Evolving a cross-border ecosystem with renewable hydrogen

The Italian Embassy, in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Italian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce, organised the Italian Research Day in Zagreb, Croatia, on April 12, 2024, where the NAHV project was on display.

With the mission of promoting Italian excellence and cooperation with neighbouring countries on topics of mutual interest and concern, the Embassy of Italy in Zagreb chose the NAHV initiative that supported research and innovation in hydrogen technologies to mark the Italian Research Day in the World. This day has been celebrated since 2018, on the 15th of April, the anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci. The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation supported the initiative by promoting Italy’s high-quality science and innovation image and organising events with renowned Italian scientists, researchers, and representatives of national technology companies, showcasing Italy’s excellence in science and technology.

Working together with the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Italian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Embassy gathered some of the partners in the North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley together with other relevant stakeholders in the renewable energy industry in Italy and Croatia to provide an overview of the initial phase of this ambitious transnational project and some of the next steps to be taken in the spirit of cooperation and shared commitment to decarbonisation and sustainable transformation of the energy sector in the region.
