The Clean Hydrogen Partnership has awarded over €154 million in grants to support 26 new projects under its 2024 Call, significantly boosting hydrogen innovation across Europe. These cutting-edge initiatives span the entire hydrogen value chain, addressing key challenges in production, storage, distribution, and utilisation.
With partners from 33 countries, the funded projects aim to scale up green hydrogen technologies and reinforce the EU’s competitiveness in the sector. Innovations include seawater electrolysis, integration of electrolysis into steelmaking, metal hydride storage, underground hydrogen storage, and advanced hydrogen propulsion for maritime transport.

Importantly, five new Hydrogen Valleys—located in Austria, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, and Iceland—will receive a combined €57.5 million in funding, expanding the growing European Hydrogen Valley ecosystem to a total of 21 valleys.
The response to the 2025 Call, which closed recently with 212 proposals, reflects a strong alignment between the hydrogen research community and EU strategic goals.
