As part of the activities within North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley, institutional partners from Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia organised a series of national roundtables dedicated to the topic of hydrogen regulatory sandboxes.
The objective of these meetings was to support dialogue between public institutions, industry representatives, research organisations, and other relevant stakeholders involved in the hydrogen sector, while exploring regulatory aspects connected to the development and deployment of hydrogen technologies.
The roundtables were coordinated by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Croatian Ministry of Economy, and the Slovenian Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy, and took place between March and April 2026 in different formats across the three participating countries.
The discussions focused on identifying regulatory challenges, exchanging experiences, and collecting stakeholder perspectives that could contribute to future activities related to hydrogen innovation and market development within the North Adriatic area.
A broad range of stakeholders from the three countries participated in the process, including companies, scientific and innovation organisations, and public authorities.
